Basic pricing starts at 99p/recorded minute (PRM) with the following extras depending on turnaround time, detail level, complexity of recording and the delivery method of transcript:

Turnaround Time

Deadlines are latest time emailed transcription will be sent and posted transcriptions posted. Post is subject to additional Royal Mail delivery time.

Detail Level

Commercial Verbatim - Full, clear script focused on readability.

Intelligent Verbatim - adds occasional pause if relevant.

True Verbatim - adds every pause, cough & stutter.

Discourse Verbatim - adds emotions & tone pitch.

Extra Charges/Discounts

Whole minutes containing at least 1 interruption or simultaneous speakers will incur a maximum extra charge of £0.14 for that minute, regardless of the frequency of interruptions in that minute. Subsequent minutes containing interruptions will also be charged at a maximum of £0.14, again regardless of the frequency.

A discount for longer recordings of 5p PRM applies to each minute above 60 recorded minutes.

Transcription Delivery Method

Transcriptions are returned in Microsoft Word Document (.doc) format via email as standard.

While we make every effort to transcribe unintelligible words, in the unlikely event we're unable to decipher the word, the transcription will show [unclear audio - hh:mm:ss]. There is no charge for unintelligible words in clear recordings.

Very unclear or muffled recordings are subject to extra charge only once the transcription service has begun. This is capped at a maximum of 25% of the quoted price (excl. delivery charges).
